Karthik is an Indian film Actor. He was born on September 13, 1960 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of R. Muthuraman and Sulochana. He made his acting debut with the Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai in 1981.
He starred in the films Ilanjodigal, Adhisayappiravigal, Dhooram Adhighamillai, Nallavanuku Nallavan, Ketti Melam, Agni Natchathiram, Varusham Padhinaaru, Kizhakku Vasal, Ponnumani, Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen and Pooveli in Tamil. He also appeared in the films Seethakoka Chiluka, Veera Bhadrudu, Anveshana, Punyastri, Abhinandana, Gopalrao Gari Abbayi, Maga Rayudu and Om 3D in Telugu.
He won Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Male Debut for the film Alaigal Oivathillai, Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for Best Actor for Agni Natchathiram, Nandi Special Jury Award and Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the film Abhinandana, Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Varusham Padhinaaru, Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor for the film Kizhakku Vasal.. He married Ragini and Rathi. He had three children.
